Join us this Stir-Up Sunday, the traditional day when families gather to make their Christmas puddings, for a festive cookery demonstration that celebrates one of Britain’s most beloved seasonal rituals.
In this demonstration, you’ll learn how to prepare your own homemade mincemeat from scratch, followed by two variations of the classic Christmas pudding – a rich, traditional version and a lighter, healthier alternative. Along the way, we will share tips and techniques to help you achieve that perfect festive flavour, whether you’re keeping to tradition or trying something new.
We’ll explore creative ways to use leftover Christmas pudding, and demonstrate the skills required to create an array of traditional accompaniments – from brandy butter to a rich vanilla custard. We will show you how to prepare your pudding basin, how to create a cheat’s trivet and even how to safely flambe to make your dessert truly shine and wow your guests on Christmas Day.
Come along, soak up the seasonal spirit, and stir up a little good luck for the year ahead!
