As climate change reshapes the landscape of viticulture, more and more premium wine regions are thriving at higher elevations. In this exclusive session, we’ll take a virtual tour of vineyards in fascinating locations such as Etna in Sicily, Gualtallary in the Andes, and the Savoie region in the Alps, exploring how altitude influences wine production.

The evening will begin with a detailed presentation on the unique challenges and benefits of viticulture at high altitudes, followed by a tutored tasting of six exceptional wines from these high-elevation regions. He will guide you through the complexities of these fascinating wines, shedding light on the intricate relationship between altitude, climate, and terroir.
Originally from the Loire Valley and the son of restaurateurs, Richard has been involved in the Hospitality and Wine Industry for over 35 years. Co-founder of l’Art du Vin, a Dalgety Bay based Wine Merchant that specialises in importing artisan wines with a strong focus on organic wines, Richard is a holder of the Level 4 Diploma in Wine with the WSET and a certified educator for WSET Level 2 in Wine qualification.
