Cookery Classes

At Edinburgh New Town Cookery School we offer a wide variety of cookery courses, with over 15 courses to choose from across various skill levels you are sure to find a course that suits.

Whether you are looking to make cooking your chosen career or are interested in developing your skills, there really is something for everyone. During the holidays we also hold courses for children and teenagers.

On all the practical cookery courses any food that you don’t eat for lunch or that you cook after lunch, you can take home with you to enjoy with your family or friends.

Hannah Innes

Hannah Innes completed the Six Month Diploma at Edinburgh New Town Cookery School in 2014.

Since then she has been working hard in the kitchens of fine dining establishments in Edinburgh to hone the skills she learnt at the Cookery School. She now runs her own business and works as a freelance chef.

Isla Cruikshank

Isla Cruickshank attended the Three Month Beginners Certificate at Edinburgh New Town Cookery School in September 2012. Since then she has used her qualification to find work during gap years and university holidays. We asked Isla to talk to us about herself, her training and what she has been doing since she left us.

Emma Louise McGettrick

Emma Louise McGettrick attended the Six Month Practical Cookery Diploma in September 2012. Since then she worked in an Edinburgh restaurant as their baker and then moved to a position with Edinburgh Chef Mark Greenaway. Emma Louise recently moved to London and is now working for chef Robin Gill. Here Emma Louise tells her story.
