- Please let us know of any dietary requirements, allergies or special accommodations required at the time of booking. We will be as flexible as possible, when we can, so as to be inclusive to all students but we may not be able to substitute ingredients in the recipes.
- We do everything we can to reduce the risk of cross contamination, however we cannot guarantee a completely allergen free environment and therefore our kitchens may be unsuitable for students with severe or life-threatening allergies.

Age limit
Our one-day workshops and short courses are 16+ unless otherwise specified. Children aged 14 or 15 may attend with an adult over 18.
Course times
On the day, the school will be open from 9.45am and the class will begin at 10am The class will be finished by 2pm, depending on the course and class size it may finish earlier.

In this practical class, you’ll learn to create a beautiful trio of symbolic dishes representing longevity and good fortune for the year ahead. After the class, relax in our dining room and enjoy your handmade banquet along with a traditional milk tea or a refreshing Tingtsao beer.

On this one day cookery workshop at The Edinburgh New Town Cookery School you will learn how to make delicious pastries that are light as a feather and guaranteed to impress. Guided by one of our expert professional chef teachers you will master many different pastry techniques and learn the tricks to perfect patisserie you can recreate at home.

Saturday 21st February 2026 10am – 12:30pm Discover the secrets behind the perfect soufflé in this hands-on, confidence-boosting masterclass. In this half day session, you’ll master the art of whisking egg whites to perfection, explore the foundations of both sweet and savoury soufflé bases, and learn the techniques that help these delicate dishes rise.

Sunday 22nd March 2026 9.45am - 3.30pm
Savour the bold flavours of Spanish cooking with our Flavours of Spain Class. This hands-on day is a celebration of Spain’s culinary traditions, from traditional tapas to comforting regional dishes. Begin with coffee and a short demonstration before preparing a delicious tapas-style lunch to enjoy with a glass of wine. In the afternoon, you’ll continue cooking an array of Spanish favourites to take home with the recipies and knowledge to recreate them again and again.

Saturday 28th March 2026 10am - 12.30pm A wonderful morning demonstration of delicate, flaky, layered pastries such as croissants, pain au chocolat, and Danish pastries – take centre stage in this relaxed and delicious morning demonstration. Enjoy a welcome tea or coffee before learning how to laminate and shape yeasted doughs with expert guidance. You’ll watch classic pastries being made, pick up tips for using every scrap, sample a variety of bakes, and have plenty of time to ask questions throughout.
