Sophie Halpin – Teacher

I’ve loved cooking since I can remember, and after school I studied Baking and Pastry Arts in Dublin.

From there I moved to Dubai and began my career in luxury hotels. I was part of the team that re-opened Adare Manor in Limerick where I stayed for 5 years, where I worked my way up to sous chef.

I moved to Scotland in 2022 where I joined the team at Gleneagles, overseeing a team of 24 pastry chefs.

I have gained lots of experience over the last 10 years, from running large events, launching a commercial chocolate line, developing restaurant concepts, and everything in between.

In September 2025, I joined the team at Edinburgh New Town Cookery School as a teacher. I’m excited and eager to be part of the amazing team and share my pastry passion and experience with the students.
